GPS Investment Group Pty Ltd operates a high-end restaurant in Mildura, Victoria, offering Spanish, Modern Australian and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
We are seeking a full-time Chef to join our kitchen team.
- Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per annum + superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and cook a full range of Spanish, Modern Australian, charcoal-grilled and Mediterranean-inspired dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s menu, quality standards and presentation requirements.
- Select, portion and prepare meat, seafood and produce using traditional charcoal-grill techniques, including fire management and temperature control using mallee root charcoal.
- Develop and refine menu items that showcase seasonal Victorian produce while maintaining consistency, flavour balance and the restaurant’s culinary style.
- Coordinate kitchen operations during service, ensuring efficient workflow, food quality and timely delivery of dishes.
- Liaise with the Head Chef regarding kitchen operations issues and promptly implement corrective actions as required.
- Monitor food preparation processes and food quality to ensure compliance with food safety standards, hygiene requirements and workplace health and safety obligations.
- Order, receive and maintain stock of kitchen supplies, including fresh produce and grilling ingredients, to minimise waste and control food costs.
- Assist with the training and development of junior kitchen staff and apprentices.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of cleaning rosters, Food Safety Plans and other kitchen compliance requirements.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant culinary qualification, such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or Diploma of Hospitality Management.
- At least 1 year of experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
- Sound knowledge of food safety standards, WHS requirements and kitchen compliance obligations.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain consistent food quality and presentation during busy service periods.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple kitchen tasks during service.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
