This role offers a unique opportunity to work across four remote and culturally rich communities, contributing to meaningful, long-term improvements in child and family health within a supportive and values-driven organisation.
What’s the role?
As the Regional Child and Youth Health Nurse, you will lead and deliver child health programs across West Arnhem, including screening, immunisation, and school health checks. You will provide culturally safe, family-centred care while supporting and mentoring remote clinical teams and Aboriginal Health Practitioners.
The role includes regional coordination of programs, monitoring performance and KPIs, and contributing to service planning and continuous improvement. This Darwin-based position involves regular travel to remote communities including Gunbalanya, Jabiru, Minjilang, and Warruwi.

What you need to be successful
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Extensive experience in child health and remote clinical practice
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal health and culturally safe care
- Experience in primary health care programs and remote service delivery
- Proven leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualifications in Child Health or related field
- Experience as a Remote Area Nurse
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams
- Background in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services
- Knowledge of NT clinical protocols and programs
Additional requirements:
- Ability to work across multiple remote communities
- Willingness to travel by air and 4WD
- Ability to work autonomously while supporting dispersed teams
- Commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality care
