We’re looking for friendly, organised and customer-focused people to help create a smooth and welcoming experience from the very first interaction.
As a Box Office Attendant, you’ll provide professional ticketing, box office and administrative support for Disney: The Exhibition – A Century of Magic, hosted at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre, and other MECC events. You’ll assist visitors with ticket sales, enquiries and accurate event information, helping create a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment they arrive.
You’ll play an important role in delivering a seamless customer experience, accurately processing transactions, supporting daily cash handling and end of day balancing, and assisting with merchandise sales if required.
What You'll Be Doing
- Process ticket sales and visitor enquiries.
- Deliver friendly, professional customer service.
- Accurately handle cash, eftpos transactions and point of sale systems.
- Assist with daily balancing and ticketing administration.
- Support visitors throughout their experience.
- Assist with merchandise sales if required.
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy helping people, can stay calm and friendly during busy periods, and have a strong eye for accuracy when processing transactions and handling money. Previous experience in customer service or sales is essential, and experience in office support or electronic box office sales will be highly regarded. You’ll be confident using computer systems, communicating with a wide range of people, working in a small team and adapting to changing operational needs while maintaining a positive attitude.
What You’ll Need
- Current QLD Working with Children Check QLD / Blue Card – essential.
- Queensland ‘C’ class driver licence – essential.
- Previous experience in a customer service or sales position.
- Cash handling and EFTPOS experience.
- Confident using computers and ticketing systems.

Employment Details
This fixed term opportunity forms part of the major exhibition project running from November 2026 to May 2027. This casual position offers flexible hours and will require availability across weekends, evenings, public holidays and regular out-of-hours shifts, in line with operational requirements.
- Stream B, MECC 2: $31.15 per hour + Causal Loading
- 12% superannuation
- Any 5 out of 7 roster arrangement.
