We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Teppanyaki Chef to join our team at The Rocks Teppanyaki in Sydney.
This role mainly involves working dinner shifts, generally starting at 5:00 PM and finishing around 10:00 PM or 11:00 PM. Occasional lunch shifts may also be available on weekdays or weekends, depending on your availability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Cooking and presenting dishes on the teppanyaki grill
- Providing an enjoyable dining experience for guests
- Preparing ingredients and assisting with kitchen preparation
- Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
- Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Following restaurant recipes, procedures and service standards
Previous teppanyaki experience is preferred. However, applicants with commercial kitchen experience, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Reliable, punctual and responsible
- Comfortable cooking in front of customers
- Able to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment
- Available for evening shifts, including weekdays and weekends
- Available for occasional lunch shifts where possible
- Able to communicate and work well as part of a team
- Legally entitled to work in Australia
Pay starts from the applicable Australian minimum award rate. Different hourly rates apply for weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
