Deciding what range of meat, poultry, and grocery lines to stock, how much inventory to hold, and the level of customer service the store should provide Developing supplier and buying arrangements for meat, poultry and grocery products, and deciding on retail pricing based on cost, competitor activity and customer demand Running marketing initiatives and in-store promotions to build awareness of the store's products, specials and value-added items such as marinated or ready-to-cook meats Serving customers directly, guiding them on cuts of meat, cooking methods and product choice to suit their needs Keeping accurate records of inventory movements, wastage and daily financial transactions, and reconciling takings against stock Preparing financial budgets for the business, forecasting costs such as stock purchases, wages and overheads Recruiting, training, rostering and supervising butchery and retail staff Overseeing workplace health and safety compliance, along with food handling and hygiene standards required for the sale of fresh and perishable goods.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
