Manager - Finance Strategy and Transformation - Financial Services - Business Consulting
The Opportunity
As a Manager in Finance Strategy and Transformation, you’ll work at the intersection of finance, data and technology — helping CFOs and finance leaders modernise how finance operates, reports and supports decision making.
Our team focuses on practical finance transformation: understanding how finance works today, designing where it needs to get to, and supporting delivery across subledger, ERP, EPM and reporting solutions. The work spans business led diagnostics and target state design through to hands on support for implementation and last mile reporting.
Based in Warrang – Sydney or Naarm – Melbourne, this role offers flexibility including options for reduced hours to support your work-life balance. Let’s discuss how we can tailor this opportunity to fit your lifestyle.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead finance transformation workstreams from diagnostic through design and delivery, including workplan ownership, issue resolution, risk tracking, quality review and client progress reporting.
Redesign Record to Report and Planning & Performance activities to improve close discipline, enhance reporting outputs, automate reconciliation processes, and improve control visibility and decision support.
Work with CFOs and finance leadership teams to assess current state processes, reporting catalogues, data flows, control points and technology architecture, then define practical future state target operating model.
Translate executive priorities into actionable transformation roadmaps, ensuring solutions are practical, scalable and aligned to business objectives.
Lead ERP, Subledger, Reporting, EPM and other technology-enabled transformations, shaping finance inputs including gathering functional requirements, identifying process impacts, redesigning data structures, establishing reporting needs and identification of enhancements.
Lead and develop high-performing teams, coaching junior members while driving a strong delivery culture.
Support business development by shaping proposal content and identifying follow-on opportunities.
Skills and Attributes for Success
Understanding of finance operating models and core finance processes, particularly Record to Report, Planning & Performance, management reporting, month-end close, controls and finance data flows.
Experience delivering at least one of the following in a consulting or in-house role: finance transformation, finance operations improvement, ERP/EPM programmes or other technology-enabled finance change. Exposure to platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, Anaplan or similar would be advantageous.
Ability to translate finance requirements into clear design options, decision papers, system implications and recommendations for finance and technology stakeholders.
Demonstrate delivery discipline, including workplan management, stakeholder coordination, risk and issue management, quality review and project team leadership.
Confident facilitator and communicator, able to run finance workshops, explain trade-offs clearly to support CFO, finance leaders and delivery teams to make timely decisions.
Financial services experience across banking, insurance, superannuation, wealth or asset management would be highly regarded, along with relevant finance or accounting qualifications such as CA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.
If you are ready to elevate your career by leading transformative finance initiatives and expanding your impact across a broad spectrum of clients and industries, we invite you to join us.
