We're looking for a passionate Secondary Diverse Learning Teacher who thrives on building connection, removing barriers, and helping young people find their place in the world.
About the role:
You'll join a dedicated team at a Gold Coast special school, supporting secondary-age students with diverse learning needs. This is a hands-on, relationship-first role. You'll design individualised learning experiences, collaborate closely with allied health professionals and families, and advocate every day for students who are often overlooked.
No two days will look the same, and that's exactly the point.
What you'll do:
- Deliver tailored curriculum and modified programs for students with diverse learning needs
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Develop and review individual learning plans (ILPs)
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families
- Track student progress and adjust strategies responsively
- Support transitions and social-emotional wellbeing
You will have:
- Registered teacher in Queensland (or eligible for registration)
- Full working rights in Australia
- Hold recognised Secondary teaching qualifications
- Experience in a special school or inclusive education setting
- Track record working with disengaged or complex learners
- Warm, patient, and genuinely student-centred approach
- Confident collaborator with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Understanding of behaviour support and trauma-informed practice
