About the opportunity
The Health and Safety Advisor (psychosocial risk management) provides technical work health and safety advice, services and support to line managers and staff across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (Townsville HHS).
The role supports implementation of the Townsville HHS Psychosocial Risk Management system to ensure ongoing compliance with legislative obligations and duties.
The role delivers services that contribute to a highly capable and effective health and safety culture across the Townsville HHS and actively contributes to the achievement of key performance indicators and sustained reduction in psychosocial hazards.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
Extensive knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, Managing the risk of psychosocial hazards at work Code of Practice 2022, and other associated legislation, standards and policies, and the ability to achieve and maintain legislative compliance in large complex organisations.
High level work health and safety technical knowledge, skills and expertise in the management and coordination of workplace health and safety services and the ability to provide expert advice to a wide range of stakeholders in order to achieve positive performance outcomes relating to psychosocial risk management.
Proven ability and experience in auditing, investigating, and identifying, assessing and managing work health and safety risks, leading to flexible, responsive, client-focused solutions.
Ability to communicate and consult effectively and confidently within a complex and diverse organisation and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Role requirements
Whilst not mandatory, possession of a tertiary or post graduate qualification in workplace health and safety, and/or risk management would be highly regarded.
Possession of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would be desirable.

Salary range: $4167.80 - $4534.70 p.h. (AO5)
4 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 17.5% loading
12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
