We Build-Um is a Queensland-based, family-run builder specialising in high-quality transportable, modular and prefabricated buildings. We design and construct residential and commercial spaces, including studios, granny flats, family homes, offices and customised modular buildings.
About the Role
We Build-Um is seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter to join our team in Yatala, Queensland.
The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing and repairing structures and fixtures as part of the manufacture and installation of our transportable, modular and prefabricated buildings.
Your duties will include:
- Reading and interpreting building plans, drawings and specifications.
- Measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling timber and other construction materials.
- Constructing and erecting wall frames, roof framing and other structural frameworks.
- Installing flooring, exterior cladding, doors, windows, fixtures and fittings.
- Checking structures for accuracy, alignment, level and compliance with specifications.
- Carrying out fixing, finishing, maintenance and repair carpentry as required.
- Using and maintaining carpentry hand tools, power tools and equipment safely.
- Working with supervisors and other trades to complete projects to required quality, safety and construction standards.
The successful applicant will need:
- AQF Certificate III in Carpentry or a relevant trade qualification, or equivalent.
- Relevant practical experience in carpentry and building construction.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications.
- Experience in framing, flooring, cladding and installation of building fixtures.
- Competence in the safe use of carpentry tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
Experience in modular, prefabricated or transportable building construction will be highly regarded.
