The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will work autonomously and collaboratively with our General Practitioners to provide advanced clinical care. You will be instrumental in expanding our service offerings, reducing patient wait times, and managing chronic diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced clinical assessments, diagnose acute and chronic illnesses, and formulate comprehensive care plans.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with PBS guidelines and your scope of practice.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests (pathology, imaging).
- Provide expert chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, asthma).
- Conduct health screenings, immunizations, and preventative care education.
- Refer patients to specialists and allied health professionals when appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with GPs and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA.
- Endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner (Master of Nurse Practitioner or equivalent).
- Medicare Provider Number and PBS Prescriber Number (or eligibility to obtain).
- Extensive clinical experience in primary care, general practice, or an emergency setting.
- Strong autonomous decision-making skills combined with a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
