MSS Security is seeking a casual Security Officer to join our team at the Devonport and Burnie Magistrates Court. This high-profile site plays a pivotal role in the justice system. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of court staff, visitors, and the public.
Duties include but are not limited to:

Maintain a secure environment within the Magistrates Court.

Screen individuals entering the court building and ensure all security protocols are followed.

Monitor and manage courtroom security during hearings.

Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents involving disruptive or aggressive behaviour.

Work collaboratively with court staff and law enforcement to manage high-risk situations.
Ideal candidates will have:
-
Previous experience in security or a related field (highly desirable).

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
-
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with the public and clients.

A readiness, confidence and assertiveness to manage challenging situations.
A strong work ethic and commitment to high-quality service.

Requirements:
-
Full Australian working rights.
-
Valid Tasmanian Security licence.
-
Certificate II (or higher) in Security Operations.
-
Valid First Aid and CPR certificates (or willing to obtain).

Working With Vulnerable People (or willing to obtain).
-
Willing to undergo and pass a National Criminal History check.
