About the role
Blue Wren Childcare is seeking an experienced and passionate Childcare Cook to join our team in Kurmond, NSW. This part-time role will be responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals for the children in our care.
What you'll be doing
- Plan, prepare and cook a variety of healthy and balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0-5 years
- Ensure all meals meet national food safety and nutrition standards
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Collaborate with the childcare team to understand dietary requirements and preferences
- Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations
- Assist in the ordering and management of kitchen supplies
What we're looking for
- Previous experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a childcare or similar setting
- Knowledge of nutrition, food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with staff and children
- Reliable, organised and able to work under pressure
- Current Food Safety Supervisor certification or willingness to obtain
- Working with Children Check and National Police Check
