Castro Orchards is a horticulture-based business now seeking 11 casual labourers for a 15th October 2026 start. The work is regionally based within the Donnybrook and Pemberton areas of Western Australia. The period of employment is seasonal and is expected to last up to 9 months.

- No prior experience necessary

Job description
Outlined below are some of the tasks successful applicants can be expected to undertake. Please note this list is not intended to be exhaustive.
Tasks:
- Fruit vine pruning with air secateurs to remove old / unproductive wood
- Vine tying down
- Fruit tree harvesting and pruning with chainsaws and/or hand loppers (depending on variety)
- Basic sprinkler and reticulation maintenance
- Tree nursery work (weeding, potting, sprinkler and dripper maintenance)
- Completing harvest estimates (fruit counts)
- Packing fruit
- Stacking boxes of fruit
- Labelling
Training and development
No prior experience is required. Successful applicants receive full on-the-job training in fruit picking, pruning and the safe use of machinery and equipment, with the potential to upskill during the placement.
Remuneration
Remuneration type (piece rates or hourly rate) will vary and is subject to the specific nature of the work undertaken at the time. All rates conform with the applicable industrial instrument – the Horticulture Award 2020 (MA000028), Casual classification Level 1 or Level 2.
