About the role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented hands on Payroll Officer to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity, located in Hawthorn. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities

Processing end to end weekly payroll for staff across the business
- Maintaining employee records, pay changes, and leave balances in Employment Hero
- Assisting with employee entitlements including annual leave, personal leave and long service leave.
- Managing payroll queries (inc annual leave, personal leave and LSL) and providing timely support to employees and managers
- Assisting with all HR and payroll related issues as required
- Ensuring compliance with tax, superannuation, and statutory obligations
- Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audit
- Contribute to process improvement and payroll efficiency
About you
-
At least 2 years' payroll experience across Australia with strong technical knowledge
- Experience with awards in the health sector
- Desirable experience with Employment Hero payroll
- Tech-savvy with strong capability using payroll and HRIS platforms and other CRM’s
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- A high level of competency on computers and excel
- Proven ability to work independently as well as having the ability to work within a collaborative team environment and being a team player
- Demonstrated multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and a clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Interpret and apply the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award and Nurses Award
- The right to work in Australia (Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Working with Children Check (WWCC) (required if successful)
- NDIS worker screening ID (required if successful)
