The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse Manager to lead the nursing team at our Caringbah Medical Centre.
Reporting to the Practice Manager, with professional accountability to the Regional Nurse Manager, you will lead, coach and develop a team of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Treatment Room Assistants and Medical Assistants.
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the treatment room while remaining actively involved in clinical care, nurse-led clinics and chronic disease management.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead, coach, mentor and develop the centre’s nursing team.
- Promote high clinical standards and ensure care is delivered in accordance with policies, procedures, standing orders and clinical pathways.
- Manage employee performance through regular one-on-one discussions, development plans and constructive feedback.
- Develop nursing rosters that provide appropriate clinical coverage, supervision and skill mix.
- Proactively manage vacant shifts and nursing workforce requirements.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training of nursing employees.
- Monitor treatment room performance and complete required reporting.
- Partner with the Practice Manager, Medical Director and Regional Nurse Manager to review performance and make informed operational decisions.
- Manage clinical stock, medical supplies and treatment room equipment.
- Ensure equipment is appropriately maintained, calibrated, repaired and sterilised.
- Support clinical accreditation and continuous quality-improvement activities.
- Coordinate nursing and clinical projects as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organised and well-stocked clinical environment.
Clinical Care and Chronic Disease Management
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will:
- Deliver and document high-quality care through nurse-led clinics.
- Collect patient health histories and coordinate individual care.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate outcomes to treating GPs.
- Escalate clinical concerns and adverse findings appropriately.
- Assist GPs with health assessments, GP management plans, team care arrangements and reviews.
- Coordinate care for patients living with chronic health conditions.
- Support collaboration between GPs, nurses, allied health professionals and non-clinical teams.
- Embed health-behaviour change principles into patient care.
- Empower patients to take greater ownership of their health.
- Ensure clinical documentation complies with relevant Medicare requirements.
About You
You are a confident and approachable clinical leader who enjoys developing people while maintaining a hands-on connection to patient care.
You will bring:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- At least two years’ experience providing direct clinical nursing care.
- Demonstrated nursing leadership or people-management experience.
- Sound clinical knowledge and a strong commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong coaching, mentoring and relationship-building capabilities.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong planning, organisation and time-management abilities.
- Accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with GPs, operational leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
Experience in primary care, chronic disease management, preventative health or health promotion will be highly regarded.
