Dry bulk shipping keeps global trade moving. Do you want to be part of making it happen?
At NORDEN, Dry Operators do more than keep vessels moving. They are trusted partners, problem-solvers and decision-makers who help create value for customers across the global supply chain.
As part of our Melbourne team, you will join a collaborative and international environment where you will be responsible for a fleet of vessels, navigate operational challenges and work closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the world. In return, you'll gain broad exposure to the dry bulk market, develop your commercial understanding and have the opportunity to grow your career with one of the world's leading shipping companies.
If you enjoy working in a changing environment, managing key tasks and finding solutions that help meet goals, we would love to hear from you.
Why this role?
Operations is where commercial plans become reality. As an Operations Manager, you will play a central role in our business by overseeing a portfolio of vessels and helping ensure each voyage is carried out safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You will work with colleagues and stakeholders across the globe, building relationships, solving challenges and keeping cargo moving from one destination to the next. The role offers a unique combination of operational responsibility, international collaboration and the opportunity to see the results of your work every day.
You will become part of a friendly, collaborative and people-focused team where knowledge is shared openly, different perspectives are valued and everyone is encouraged to contribute. Whether you are looking to deepen your operational know-how, expand your network or grow your career in shipping, you will find an environment that supports your development.
What you will be doing
You will have the opportunity to:
-
Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of several vessels in the fleet.
-
Manage your own defined area of responsibility with focus and accountability.
-
Coordinate closely with internal teams, vessels, agents, charterers and owners to ensure smooth voyages.
-
Play a key role on a collaborative team focused on providing high-quality service.
What you bring
With an internal collaboration and external goal-oriented mindset and attention to detail, you handle both daily operations and unexpected challenges with ease. You communicate clearly and effectively, whether working with colleagues, vessels or external partners. Further, we are looking for a colleague who:
-
Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in vessel operations ashore.
-
Possesses good IT skills and a solid understanding of operational systems and processes; experience.
-
Has experience with meticulous data entry.
Besides this you are at your best when managing several moving parts at once, remaining structured, detail-oriented and solutions-focused even when deadlines are tight.
Application
Please upload your motivation letter, resume and relevant diplomas via our website as soon as possible and no later than 12 August. Your motivation letter helps us understand what drives you, why you are interested in the role, and how your skills and experiences could contribute to the team. We are especially interested in your motivation and transferable skills, not a recap of your CV. It is your opportunity to tell us the story behind your application.
We review and interview candidates on an ongoing basis.
We will do our best to get back to you at least within ten working days after the application deadline, 12 August.
In NORDEN we value a range of perspectives, educational backgrounds and professional experience and encourages all qualified candidates to apply.
