We are currently looking for an experienced Drainer to join the WEM Water team. Reporting to the Team Leader, this role requires hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of stormwater, sewer and drainage systems. The Drainer is a key member of our water infrastructure team, working alongside our Pipe Layers, Operators and Team Leaders.
In this position, you’ll be primarily responsible for:

Studying drawings and specifications to determine the layout of water, stormwater and sewer systems

Excavating, levelling and preparing trenches to required depths and grades

Installing below-ground concrete and PVC pipes, including stormwater, sewer and gas pipelines

Testing drainage systems and locating or clearing blockages

Cutting, aligning and connecting pipework and sealing joints

Installing excavation supports in line with Workplace Health and Safety requirements

Backfilling and covering pipes with earth and other materials
We are looking for someone who has:
- Relevant Certificate III qualification at minimum (including at least 2 years of training) or at least 3 years of relevant employment experience

Demonstrated experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of drainage, stormwater, sewer and pipeline systems

Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications

Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks to a high-quality standard\

Team-focused with the ability to meet project deadlines

Current Driver Licence and NSW White Card

Ability to work safely and comply with all site safety standards
