Due to a high volume of upcoming work across North Brisbane, we're looking for a reliable, motivated labourer to join our small team as soon as possible.
We're not a big company with layers of management. You'll be working side-by-side with the business owner, who's still on the tools every day. That means you'll learn the trade firsthand, ask questions whenever you need to, and gain practical experience from someone who's been doing it for years.
No one expects you to know everything. We'd much rather you ask questions than guess. Whether it's grabbing a coffee on the way to site, talking through why we do things a certain way, or learning new techniques, we're big believers that the best tradies are always learning.
What you'll be doing
Every day is different, but your role may include:
- Assisting with flooring installations
- Floor preparation and levelling
- Removing existing flooring or carpet
- Unpacking board
- Laying hybrid, timber, laminate flooring
- Installing skirting and scotia
- Keeping sites clean and organised
- Helping keep jobs running efficiently by using your initiative
As you gain experience, you'll be trusted to keep working without needing constant direction. If you notice something that needs doing, jump in and do it. We value people who take pride in their work and enjoy being part of a team. We are very flexible if you have personal/doctors appointments, however at least a weeks notice is desired so that logistics for upcoming jobs can be planned around.
Where we work
Most of our upcoming work is in North Brisbane and around Caboolture, primarily on new residential builds.
Because many of these estates are still being developed and don't have public transport, having your own reliable vehicle is essential.
To help with travel costs, any site that's more than 50 km from your home attracts a $50 per day travel allowance.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and turns up ready to work.
- Keen to learn a skilled trade
- Happy to ask questions and take on feedback
- Physically fit and enjoys hands-on work
- Able to work independently and show initiative
- Has a White Card, driver's licence and reliable transport
