Dragon Body Pty Ltd operates Action Karaoke, an established licensed late-night karaoke, bar and entertainment venue located in the heart of Melbourne’s Chinatown.
The venue provides private karaoke rooms, licensed beverage services, membership benefits, entertainment packages and facilities for private celebrations and group functions. Operating within a regulated late-night environment, the business places strong emphasis on responsible service of alcohol, patron safety, security, regulatory compliance and customer experience.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Licensed Club Manager to manage and control the overall day-to-day operations of the venue.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan, direct and control the overall operations of the licensed venue, including private karaoke rooms, bar and beverage services, reception, bookings, membership services and private functions.
· Plan and supervise karaoke, entertainment and function activities, including room allocations, booking schedules, entertainment packages, private celebrations and group events.
· Manage compliance with applicable liquor-licensing requirements, including responsible service of alcohol, age-verification procedures, refusal of service, management of intoxicated patrons, incident reporting and approved trading conditions.
· Supervise venue security and patron-safety arrangements, including coordination with crowd controllers and security personnel, CCTV requirements, late-night patron management and emergency procedures.
· Recruit, train, roster and supervise approximately 5–10 employees across reception, bar, floor-service and karaoke-room operations, and monitor staff performance and service standards.
· Administer the venue’s membership and customer-loyalty program, including member registrations, benefits, promotional offers, communications and membership records.
· Review membership activity, booking patterns, patron feedback and complaints to identify customer preferences and improve entertainment offerings, private-room packages, beverage services and membership benefits.
· Monitor venue revenue, labour expenditure, beverage and consumable costs and other operating expenses, assist with budgeting and management reporting, and implement appropriate cost-control measures.
· Manage the purchasing, storage and inventory control of alcoholic beverages, food, consumables and venue supplies, and liaise with suppliers and service providers.
· Supervise the maintenance and operational readiness of private rooms, karaoke and audio-visual systems, bar facilities, furniture and safety equipment.
· Develop and enforce procedures relating to work health and safety, hygiene, responsible service of alcohol, patron welfare, emergency management and regulatory compliance.
· Manage significant customer complaints and operational incidents and liaise with the liquor licensee, building management, security providers, contractors and relevant regulatory bodies where required.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have:
· An AQF Diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality Management or a closely related field;
· At least one year of relevant full-time employment experience in a licensed hospitality, club, nightclub, karaoke or entertainment venue;
· Demonstrated experience supervising staff in a licensed hospitality or entertainment environment;
· Sound knowledge of Victorian liquor-licensing obligations, responsible service of alcohol, patron safety and incident-management requirements;
· Experience managing bar services, entertainment activities, private functions, bookings and customer or member services;
· Experience in staff training, rostering and performance supervision;
· Experience monitoring revenue, labour costs, inventory, purchasing and venue operating expenses;
· Strong communication, organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills;
· A current Victorian RSA certificate, or the ability to obtain one before commencing employment; and
· Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays according to the operational requirements of a late-night venue.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
