Position Overview
Goldmate is currently seeking a detail-oriented and driven Part Time Branch Member Level 1 Staff member (23.5 Hours a week) to join our Foreign Exchange Branch Team in Haymarket and Auburn (NSW). This role offers an exceptional opportunity who have a keen interest in customer services, regulatory compliance, and client management. The successful candidate will provide crucial support in face-to-face currency exchange and remittance transactions, client onboarding, and branch-head office coordination to maintain operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct face-to-face foreign currency exchange and international remittance transactions in accordance with company procedures
- Handle cash transactions involving AUD and multiple foreign currencies with a high level of accuracy and integrity
- Perform customer onboarding, including collection and verification of KYC documentation (e.g. passport, driver licence)
- Accurately input and process transactions using internal systems and platforms
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to walk-in clients and respond to enquiries via phone, email and messaging platforms.
- Complete end-of-day cash balancing, transaction reconciliation, and basic branch reporting
- Maintain proper records, forms, and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements
- Liaise with Head Office and Compliance teams as required, including escalating unusual or suspicious transactions
- Adhere strictly to AUSTRAC-aligned AML/CTF and KYC procedures (training provided)
- Support general branch operations and administration, including filing and housekeeping duties
Essential Qualifications
- Fluent English communication skills (spoken and written), equivalent to IELTS 7.0 or above. Ability to communicate in Mandarin, given the nature of our clientele
- Right to work in Australia, student visa holders encouraged to apply
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of honesty and integrity, particularly when handling cash and sensitive information
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Ability to follow procedures and comply with regulatory and internal control requirements
- Willingness to work across Haymarket and Auburn branches with flexible shift arrangements
Preferred (but not essential)
· Prior experience in customer service or cash-handling roles
Shift Hours
· Weekdays 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 5 Hrs 30 minutes (30 minutes break), choose 3 days between Monday - Friday
· Saturday 10:30 AM - 6:00 PM, 7 Hrs (30 minutes break)
