Mala’la Health Service is seeking an experienced Aged/Disability Care Support Worker to provide personal, physical and emotional support to the Aged Care, NDIS and Community Clients who require assistance with daily tasks and assistance with culturally appropriate activities within the Aged Care Facility and the Maningrida Community.
The Mala’la Aged and Community Care Service aims to improve the quality of life for our Aged Care clients and clients with disability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support services to Residential and Community Clients as described in their Care Plans

Provide reliable, timely and flexible services that are person centred and best meet the needs of the individual

Problem solving issues with the individuals and the Support Worker team

Ensure any documentation/reporting is completed objectively & in a timely manner

Work with other team members to identify and address the needs and choices of Residents and Community Clients
NOTE: This is a Maningrida based full-time position. The successful applicant must be willing to relocate to Maningrida.

Salary & Entitlements
- Base rate $39.76 per hour plus applicable penalty rates

12% Superannuation

Fully subsidised shared accommodation provided

7 weeks annual leave plus 17.5% leave loading

Ability to salary package up to $15,900 per annum, plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment

Mala’la Health Service is a respected & accredited Aboriginal Corporation providing services to the seaside community of Maningrida (520 km east of Darwin), with a population of approximately 3,500 people. These services include Primary Health Care, Aged & Community Care, Family & Community Wellness, Drugs & Alcohol Services.
Essential Requirements
The role will see you working in a remote Aboriginal Community. All applicants must have an understanding of, and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Aboriginal people living in remote settings.

Experience working in Aged Care and/or Disability sector

An understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in remote communities

Current NT Working with Children Clearance OCHRE card & National Police Certificate

Current manual Driver Licence & First Aid Certificate

Medication Administration Certificate/experience is desirable

Strong advocacy and communication skills

Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, on a rotating roster

Ability to work autonomously, or in a team environment and with minimal supervision
