At Kerang District Health, we are committed to protecting, restoring and enhancing health across our community. As a small rural health service with a big impact, we provide a broad range of acute, aged care, primary and community health services to the Kerang region.
We are seeking compassionate and motivated Healthcare Workers to join our team and support older people to live active, meaningful and independent lives.
As a Healthcare Worker, you will provide person-centred care and support to older consumers in residential and community settings. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assist with daily living activities, social support programs, community outings, and wellbeing initiatives that promote active ageing and enhance quality of life.
- Provide personal care and support to consumers in line with individual care plans.
- Assist with leisure, lifestyle and social support activities.
- Support consumers to participate in community outings and programs.
- Assist with the implementation of goal-directed care and exercise programs.
- Build positive relationships with consumers, families, volunteers and community members.
- Support meal preparation and service activities.
- Maintain privacy, dignity and confidentiality at all times.
- Ensureasafeenvironmentthroughadherencetoinfectioncontrolandworkplacesafetypractices.
You are a caring and reliable individual who enjoys supporting older people and making a positive difference every day.
- Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, Home and Community Care, or equivalent.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Current Driver's License.
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Annual Influenza Vaccination and evidence of required immunisations.
- Strong understanding of the physical, emotional and social needs of older people.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to person-centred care and ongoing professional development.
- Work in a supportive and welcoming rural health service.
