My Dentist at Cannon Hill is looking for a warm, reliable and proactive Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our established private practice.
This is initially a permanent part-time position, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role for the right person.
The varied role combines chairside assisting and reception, making it ideal for someone who enjoys clinical dentistry, building patient relationships and creating an exceptional experience from the first phone call to the final goodbye.

About the role
This varied position combines chairside dental assisting and reception responsibilities, including:
- Providing confident four-handed chairside assistance.
- Preparing surgeries, instruments and materials.
- Maintaining excellent infection-control standards.
- Welcoming patients and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Managing calls, appointments and patient communication.
- Processing payments and assisting with general reception duties.
- Helping the practice run smoothly through initiative and teamwork.
About you
To be considered, you will need:
- At least two years of dental assisting, dental reception or combined experience.
- Confidence working across both chairside assisting and reception.
- Warm, professional and polished communication skills.
- Reliability, punctuality and strong attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take responsibility.
- A genuine passion for patient care and customer service.
- The ability to work calmly and positively as part of a team.
A Certificate III in Dental Assisting is desirable but not essential.
You do not need experience in every area of dentistry. If you have solid foundations, the right attitude and a genuine desire to improve, we are happy to train you and further develop your skills.
Hours and remuneration
- Permanent part-time employment
- Approximately 2.5 days per week
- Tuesday and Thursday evenings, finishing approximately 7:30–8:00 pm
- Saturday half-day, finishing at approximately 1:30 pm
- Saturday availability is essential
- $31–$34 per hour, depending on experience
- Applicable overtime or penalty rates for Saturday work
- Anticipated commencement in August / September 2026
- Potential to grow into a full-time position
