Lead with Purpose. Shape Lives. Grow Your Career.
At Sydney Health & Care Services, we believe leadership is about more than overseeing a home — it's about building places where participants can truly thrive. We're looking for an experienced and passionate Residential Team Leader to join our growing team and help us deliver outstanding care across our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes.
If you are energised by working with complex needs, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want a leadership role that truly makes a difference — we want to hear from you.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for managing 2 - 3 residential homes, supporting male participants with complex needs, including:
- Individuals with ABI
- Drug and Alcohol-related behaviours
- Behaviours of concern: Physical and Verbal aggression, impulsivity with gambling and spending
- Insulin administration
- Manual handling
This is a mobile leadership role, where you will commute between homes across the Wollongong region during the week, including morning and/or afternoon shifts, with 1 day in office for planning, meetings, and administrative duties.
On-Call Component: You are required to answer calls outside working hours (5pm to 9am during weekdays and Saturday/Sunday all day) on rotation every 4 to 6 weeks as determined by management.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned homes to meet company standards and NDIS compliance requirements.
- Manage participant care needs and maintain strong communication with families, stakeholders, and allied health teams.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor Support Workers to deliver safe, high-quality support.
- Manage and coordinate rosters and timesheets to ensure effective service delivery.
- Participate in an on-call rotational roster with other Team Leaders and Managers for after-hours support and emergencies.
- Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and quality audits across homes.
- Promote a positive and empowering environment for both participants and staff.
About You:
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within the Disability, Community, or Aged Care sectors, ideally supporting participants with complex and high-risk needs.
- Strong understanding of NDIS Practice Standards, incident reporting, restrictive practices, and active support frameworks.
- Ability to manage complex supports including behaviours linked to drug and alcohol use, bowel care, and stoma care.
- Natural leadership skills — proactive, approachable, and solutions-focused.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Cert IV or higher in Disability, Community Services, Individual Support, or a related field.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Police Check, WWCC (NSW), First Aid and CPR certification.
- Full Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle (travel between houses required).
What We Offer You:
- Competitive salary under the SCHADS Award (plus applicable allowances)
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for confidential wellbeing support
- Supportive leadership and team culture — you’ll be backed every step of the way
- Flexible work schedules — balance your work and life
- Career development opportunities — be part of an organisation that invests in your growth
- Autonomy — manage your homes, your way, with strong leadership support
