Qwixi is a food manufacturer in Ingleburn producing fresh, chilled and frozen products like sandwiches, pizzas, desserts and soups.
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on production supervisor who has worked within a fresh food manufacturing environment and has proven ability to achieve daily production targets. The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about producing high quality food products and can get the best of the production team.
About the role
- reports to the Operations Manager
- lead a high performing of a team of production assistants, hot kitchen staff and pack out crew
- continual improvement in production efficiency reducing production hours/costs, downtime, waste levels and rework
- maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality consistency
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily production operations (including Saturday production)
- Ensure production plans are completed in full, on time, to specifications and safely
- Manage labour allocation during production to maximise productivity and minimise downtime
- Monitor production efficiencies, waste, change-over times
- Maintain compliance with HACCP, GMP, food safety and quality standards
- Conduct pre-production checks to ensure all raw materials, packaging, PPE and equipment are ready
- Coach, train and develop production staff including involvement in recruitment
- Identify and investigate production opportunities and issues and recommend/implement corrective actions
- Foster a positive, accountable and quality focused workplace culture
About you
You will ideally have:
- previous supervisory experience in food manufacturing with specific background in fresh food production highly desirable
- strong understanding of HACCP, GMP and food safety systems
- experience managing a production team in a high volume fast paced environment
- excellent organisational, analytical and problem solving skills
- strong leadership and communication abilities
- ability to work calmly under pressure and meat production deadlines
- desirable to have a certificate of diploma in Food Processing, Manufacturing or related field and first aid certificate
- a continuous improvement mindset
