We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 to become part of our Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) Service.
This unique opportunity will see you working alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, supporting patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals with compassion, respect and clinical excellence throughout the Voluntary Assisted Dying pathway.
The Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Voluntary Assisted Dying Service, you'll deliver specialised nursing care, case management and care coordination for patients accessing the VAD pathway across the Hunter New England district.
This is a varied and rewarding position where you'll:
- Coordinate and support patient care throughout the VAD process.
- Provide expert clinical advice to patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with hospitals, community health services, residential aged care facilities and private providers.
- Deliver education and build capability across the health service.
Foster strong partnerships to ensure seamless, compassionate care.

Based at Wallsend Campus, this role involves travel across the district, including occasional overnight stays.
About You
You're a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse who combines advanced clinical expertise with empathy, professionalism and sound clinical judgement. You are committed to providing exceptional end-of-life care while confidently supporting patients and families through complex and sensitive situations.

- Experience supporting patients, families and carers through complex decision-making.

Proven experience developing collaborative relationships across healthcare and community settings.

Essential Requirements
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Relevant post-registration qualifications with a minimum of three years' clinical experience in your postgraduate specialty area (Palliative Care, Acute Medicine or Critical Care Nursing)
Current NSW driver's licence (or eligibility to drive in NSW) and willingness to travel throughout the district as required.
