Okami is seeking a Pan Fry / Hot Section Cook to join our experienced and award‑winning team in Penrith, NSW.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain pan-frying and hot-section cooking equipment, ensuring all dishes are prepared with the correct heat control, timing, and quality standards
- Maintain safe and sanitary food‑handling practices across all preparation and serving areas
- Regulate stove and cooking equipment temperatures to ensure consistent and proper food preparation
- Prepare, cook, and season food according to recipes or professional culinary experience
- Monitor food quality and doneness using visual checks, tasting, smelling, or appropriate utensils
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients following recipes and using suitable kitchen equipment
- Store food safely in temperature‑controlled facilities to maintain freshness and safety
- Estimate food consumption and organise preparation to meet service demands efficiently
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and assist in coordinating workflow to maintain speed and quality during service
Essential Skills & Requirements:
- Reliable, punctual, and well‑organised
- Strong time‑management and communication skills
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations in a commercial kitchen
