RPF Mechanical is seeking a Mechanical / Industrial Engineer to join our growing team in Perth. This full‑time position plays a key role in supporting engineering activities, maintenance planning, technical documentation, operational coordination and continuous improvement across our workshop and mining clients.
The role is ideal for an engineer with strong technical capability and excellent administrative and organisational skills, who enjoys working across both workshop operations and office‑based engineering tasks.
About the Role
The Mechanical / Industrial Engineer will support daily operations by preparing technical documentation, coordinating maintenance activities, managing data and records, and assisting with engineering assessments. The position requires a balance of hands‑on technical understanding and strong administrative discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical
- Prepare technical documentation including inspection reports, service sheets, equipment condition assessments and maintenance records.
- Support engineering activities related to mobile mining equipment and heavy machinery.
- Conduct mechanical failure analysis and assist with root‑cause investigations.
- Assist with maintenance planning, scheduling, job allocation and workflow optimisation.
- Support equipment compliance checks, technical assessments and quality assurance processes.
- Review technical data, specifications and OEM documentation.
Administrative, Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain accurate engineering records, logs, registers and document control systems.
- Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports for internal management and clients.
- Manage procurement tasks including parts sourcing, purchase orders, supplier communication and inventory tracking.
- Maintain spreadsheets, databases and maintenance systems with high attention to detail.
- Assist with quoting, cost tracking, job costing and basic financial documentation.
- Support contract administration, KPI tracking and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate communication between workshop staff, site personnel, suppliers and clients.
- Ensure all documentation is updated, version‑controlled and filed correctly.
- Assist with scheduling, planning and administrative support for operational activities.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience in engineering, maintenance, operations or technical administration within mining, heavy industry or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics and equipment maintenance.
- Demonstrated administrative capability: reporting, document control, data entry, spreadsheets.
- High proficiency with Excel, Word and general computer systems.
- Strong communication, organisation and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Full working rights in Australia.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
