The Meat & Wine Co is expanding, with an exciting new restaurant opening on Collins Street in 2026.
We’re now looking for experienced and passionate Lead Line Cooks to join our opening kitchen team and help deliver the premium dining experience The Meat & Wine Co is known for. This is a full time salaried position.
Working closely with the Head Chef and Assistant Kitchen Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading service, supporting the kitchen team, and maintaining the high standards of quality, consistency and presentation our guests expect in a fast-paced premium dining environment.

What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in a senior kitchen role within a high-volume restaurant
- Strong service leadership and communication skills
- Ability to lead by example during busy service periods
- Passion for quality food, consistency and presentation
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards
- Ability to train and support junior kitchen team members
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Availability across a 7-day rotating roster
Experience across grill, pans or premium steakhouse environments will be highly regarded.
