Senior Personal Injury Lawyer (Part-Time, WA)

We are a boutique law firm originally established in the United Kingdom, now expanding into Western Australia. Our focus is on providing high-quality legal services with a strong emphasis on personal injury law. As we establish our Perth practice, we are seeking an experienced Head Solicitor to lead the new office, manage client matters, and ensure the firm’s compliance with all professional and regulatory standards in WA.

The Role
As the Head Solicitor, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the practice’s personal injury caseload, including:
- Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA)
- Workers’ Compensation
- Public Liability
- Medical Negligence
- Catastrophic Injury Claims
- Advising clients on liability, damages, and entitlements under WA legislation, including:
- Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981 (WA)
- Civil Liability Act 2002 (WA)
- Motor Vehicle (Third Party Insurance) Act 1943 (WA)
- Preparing and managing litigation in the District Court, Supreme Court of WA, and WorkCover WA.
- Drafting pleadings, submissions, settlement agreements, and representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and hearings.
- Ensuring compliance with Legal Practice Board of WA obligations, including trust accounts, file management, CPD, and professional conduct.
- Providing leadership in practice development and mentoring as the firm grows.
About You
You will bring:
- Current admission as a lawyer in Western Australia and a valid practising certificate.
- At least 5+ years PQE with a focus on personal injury law in WA.
- Proven advocacy skills and experience running matters from initial advice through to settlement or judgment.
- Strong understanding of WA courts, WorkCover WA processes, and personal injury legislation.
- Excellent client management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and set up effective legal and compliance systems for a new practice.
