We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team at our Deer Park facility on a full time basis, manufacturing high-quality electrical enclosures.
The position will be based in Deer Park, Victoria. The Electrical Engineering Technician role is a full time position and is duly remunerated at an annual salary between $79,500 to $82,000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
- ·Develop and prepare detailed drawings of electrical switchboard systems, ensuring all design specifications meet switchboard production standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve challenges in the development of switchboard systems and solutions.
- Engage with customers to understand project requirements and present creative, forward-thinking design concepts tailored to switchboard applications.
- Prepare quotations, including material costings and identification of long lead-time components that may impact switchboard system production or delivery timelines.
- Ensure all quotations remain technically competitive and viable from both engineering and market perspectives.
- Coordinate the prototyping of new switchboard-related components, ensuring initial production units are inspected and tested for compliance with customer specifications.
- Provide swift and effective support in resolving manufacturing issues to maintain on-time delivery of switchboard assemblies and installations.
- Oversee testing, calibration, and maintenance of all electrical equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Lead initiatives for repairing, upgrading, and testing cable modification programs in support of ongoing switchboard project developments.
- Collect and present engineering performance data, including the use of statistical analysis and graphical reporting to drive continuous improvement.
- Foster strong communication within the Engineering Team and across departments to ensure collaborative problem-solving and cost-effective delivery of switchboard systems.
- Take charge of on-site technical support for customer installations, ensuring all switchboard energy electrical works meet safety and regulatory requirements.
The Requirements:
- Completion of a formal qualification (e.g., AQF Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field) Tertiary qualifications in the Electrical Engineering discipline or at least three years of relevant experience in lieu of qualifications.
- Minimum of one years of relevant post-qualification experience in a switchboard manufacturing or similar electrical engineering environment
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficient in the use of standard electrical and mechanical hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to assembly and wiring.
- Ability to take direction and work effectively under the supervision of senior technicians and engineers.
- Strong communication skills for reporting progress and issues.
- A proactive, safety-conscious, and team-oriented approach to work.
Pay: $79,500.00 – $82,000.00 per year
