Details: The ACT Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ACT DPP) is seeking applications from outstanding legal practitioners for appointment as a Crown Prosecutor within its Crown Chambers.
This senior executive role appears in the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and other jurisdictions in serious and complex criminal matters, including homicide, sexual offences and other significant prosecutable offences. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Crown Chambers, you will manage a complex criminal caseload, provide strategic legal advice and contribute to leadership, mentoring and professional development across the office.
You will bring a proven record of excellence in criminal advocacy, including jury trials, deep expertise in criminal law and evidence and the ability to communicate persuasively in high stakes environments. A demonstrated commitment to trauma-informed practice, stakeholder engagement across the justice system and developing others is essential.

Commencing 1 July 2026 all ACTPS Senior Executive Service members are required to exercise the functions of their position in accordance with the closing the gap principle ACT Closing the Gap Implementation Plan - ACT Government Transparency Portal
Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $296,877 - $306,035 depending on current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $261,668.
Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
