About Foxleigh Mine:
Foxleigh Mine is located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin coalfield, 12km south of Middlemount and 272km northwest of Rockhampton. The mine was established in 1999 as an open cut operation producing benchmark quality, LV PCI coal for the export market.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Maintenance Technician – Trades Assistant / Tyre Fitter to join our Maintenance team and support the safe, reliable and efficient maintenance of our mining fleet.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this hands-on role is responsible for assisting qualified tradespeople with preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities while undertaking tyre servicing, workshop support and equipment preparation across the mobile equipment fleet, coal haulage fleet and ancillary equipment. Working closely with Maintenance Supervisors, Leading Hands, Diesel Fitters and Operations personnel, you will contribute to equipment availability and reliability by completing maintenance support activities safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Supporting preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities across heavy mobile equipment, haulage fleet and ancillary equipment

Assisting qualified tradespersons with servicing, component change-outs, repairs and field maintenance activities

Carrying out tyre servicing including tyre changes, wheel removals and installations, tyre rotations, inspections and pressure monitoring on Coal Haulage equipment

Identifying and reporting equipment defects, tyre issues and maintenance concerns

Maintaining workshop housekeeping, tooling, stores and equipment preparation activities

Assisting with washing, fuelling and preparing equipment for maintenance and operational readiness

Completing maintenance documentation, work orders, tyre inspection records and maintenance reports accurately

Working safely in accordance with site procedures, isolation requirements, permits and risk management processes

Working collaboratively with Maintenance, Operations and Reliability teams to achieve equipment availability targets

Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance maintenance efficiency, reliability and workshop performance
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Previous experience in a maintenance, trades assistant, tyre fitting or similar role within mining, heavy industry or a comparable environment

Experience working with heavy mobile equipment, heavy haulage or ancillary equipment (highly regarded)

Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use workshop tools and tyre servicing equipment

Experience carrying out tyre fitting, inspections and maintenance activities (desirable)

Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and continuous improvement

Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate with a range of stakeholders

Current Open Driver's Licence

Standard 11 and Health Assessment (or ability to obtain)

Forklift, High Risk Work Licence, Working at Heights and EWP tickets (desirable)

Relevant tyre fitting or mechanical qualifications (desirable)
