About the Role
Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) is seeking compassionate and dedicated Midwives to provide high-quality, woman-centred care throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period. Working within a multidisciplinary maternity team, you will support positive outcomes for mothers, babies, and families across hospital and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide antenatal assessments, education, and individualised care planning.
- Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing throughout pregnancy and labour.
- Support women during labour, birth, and postnatal recovery.
- Assist with normal births and collaborate with medical teams during high-risk deliveries.
- Support breastfeeding, newborn care, and family education.
- Administer medications and treatments within scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
- Follow infection control, clinical governance, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality maternity care.
- Support graduate and student midwives where appropriate.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent qualification.
- Current registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Current CPR and neonatal resuscitation competencies.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced maternity environment.
- Commitment to evidence-based, woman-centred care.
