Consultant - Risk Consulting
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Climate & Sustainability Risk consulting team at Marsh Risk Consulting. This role will be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
This role sits within Marsh’s growing Climate & Sustainability practice in the Asia Pacific region and supports client work across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. You will help deliver impactful consulting projects across physical risk and resilience, transition risk and decarbonisation, and sustainability.
We will count on you to:
Support the delivery of consulting projects, including data analysis and qualitative research
Translate analysis into clear strategic implications for clients across their climate and sustainability journey
Manage the delivery of smaller engagements end to end
Produce high-quality outputs, including reports, numerical insights and presentations
Contribute to proposal development
Research emerging climate and sustainability trends and understand their implications for clients
Provide practical advice to clients on project approaches, methodology and tools to support sustainability programmes and initiatives
What you need to have:
A degree in business, environmental science, management, policy, engineering or another relevant field
Three to five years of relevant experience in sustainability, climate change or catastrophe analytics, either in consulting or in-house
Experience with relevant disclosure standards and frameworks such as ASRS, IFRS/ISSB, ISO14001, GHG Protocol, SBTi and TCFD
The ability to work with data and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
What makes you stand out:
Comfort working with large data sets, particularly spatial data and GIS tools
Experience in natural catastrophe modelling and the insurance industry
Experience in sustainability-linked finance, climate risk or ASRS/IFRS reporting
