- You will have the responsibility to adhere to operational processes disciplines as well as escalation of issues internally and externally as appropriate to deliver a high level of customer service. This includes Incident, Change and Problem tickets according to established KPIs.
- Your experience, knowledge and skills in RF site, RF principles and backhaul technology will allow you to enhance the skills within the Field Services Team for additional support duties for the SAGRN network.
- You will identify, and recommend areas of improvement to improve service quality. This will include 3rd party contractors, auditing their work, reports, results, and ensuring compliance with the contractual requirements of the managed service.
- Comply with Motorola Quality policies and practices.
- Interact with other internal business units in supporting SA based customers.
- Good problem solving skills and decision making abilities.
- Be part of the resource loading forecast for baseline support obligations that requires staff utilisation for staff capacity planning and business growth.
- Participate in the On Call Roster for after hours primary response.
Essential:
Minimum 3 years in an Engineer or equivalent role implementing and supporting radio communication systems. IT, telecom, or mobility support.
Strong understanding of mobile devices, provisioning, LTE/Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
Proven familiarity with Push-to-Talk (PTT) service architecture, including platforms such as WAVE PTX or the 3GPP Mission-Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT) standard (highly preferred).
IP networking knowledge (APNs, firewalls, DNS).
Good working knowledge of Linux, including the ability to use the command line, perform light scripting, and troubleshoot system issues.
Ability to read logs and follow workflows.
Proven interpersonal skills in interfacing with customers, staff, management and vendors.
Ability to participate in an on-call roster outside normal business hours
Desirable:
Technical experience with Motorola Wave PTX systems.
Experience with public safety grade encryption systems configuration, implementation and operation.
Experience in a communications operations or network operations environment.
Network security skills including intrusion detection devices firewalls and anti-virus.
Server maintenance skills - hardware and software.
