$115,000 - $135,000 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).

The IT Program Department is the central hub for the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of all technology-driven initiatives across the organisation. This department is dedicated to ensuring the effective delivery of IT projects aligned to strategic priorities, managing a diverse portfolio of initiatives including enterprise systems, infrastructure, identity platforms, and digital transformation. Its core function involves orchestrating resources, managing timelines, mitigating risks, and fostering collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and external vendors. The IT Program Department acts as the single point of accountability for project performance, driving consistent application of project management methodologies to transform business requirements into successful, value-adding technological solutions.
We are seeking a highly capable IT Business Analyst to join this team and work across complex, enterprise-scale technology initiatives. This role is suited to a senior, experienced Business Analyst who thrives in environments where business needs are evolving or not fully defined, and who can bring clarity, structure and quality to requirements, documentation and testing practices.
This role will play a critical part in:

Leading the IT Business Analysis practice

Improving the maturity of requirements gathering and documentation
-
Driving the adoption and optimisation of Jira for delivery and governance
-
Strengthening testing practices, including the use of Xray for traceability and quality
You will work closely with stakeholders, project managers, developers, and testers to ensure requirements are well-defined, traceable, and aligned with business outcomes, while also embedding consistent frameworks and standards across the organisation.
As an IT Business Analyst, you will:

Lead and uplift the Business Analysis practice within the department, driving standards, frameworks, and governance

Develop and maintain best-practice approaches for requirements gathering, documentation, and artefacts including training to build capability, consistency, and quality across delivery teams

Elicit, analyse, and document high-quality business and technical requirements
-
Establish robust requirements traceability, validation, and process optimisation (current and future state)
-
Lead the adoption and optimisation of Jira (and Xray or similar) to enhance requirements management, testing, and reporting
-
Strengthen testing maturity, including UAT, test case design, and end-to-end traceability from requirements to validation

Act as a key liaison between business and technical stakeholders, ensuring solutions align with methodology and strategic objectives
To be successful, you’ll have:

Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Analysis, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
-
Proven experience in Senior or Lead Business Analyst roles within enterprise IT environments

Demonstrated ability to lead or uplift Business Analysis practices, including frameworks, standards, and governance
-
Strong expertise in requirements elicitation, management, and process modelling, translating business needs into clear technical specifications

Advanced, hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and Xray, including workflow design, reporting, and test management

Experience delivering complex enterprise IT projects (e.g. infrastructure, identity platforms, CRM or student systems)

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to produce clear, high-quality documentation.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute effectively to cross-functional teams.

Experience supporting change management, benefits realisation and training, ideally within the Higher Education or TAFE sector.
WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and also a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
