We are seeking a suitably experienced and motivated Program Worker Children, Youth, Family & Employment to work across our Reconnect and Getting it Together programs, based in Tweed Heads (60 hours per fortnight).
This role covers the two programs supporting young people and their families to achieve positive outcomes, strengthen relationships, and build skills for long-term wellbeing and independence.
Reconnect is an early intervention program for young people (12–18 years) at risk of homelessness due to family breakdown.
Getting it Together supports young people (8–25 years) through strengths-based, practical interventions, including support relating to wellbeing and Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD).
In this role, you will:
- Deliver strengths-based, person-centred case management, including assessment and intervention
- Provide individual and family support, including facilitated conversations to improve relationships
- Support young people to achieve goals, build life skills, and improve wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with families, communities, and service providers
- Contribute to group activities and community-based initiatives as appropriate
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in health, psychology, social work, social science or social welfare, health promotion or similar
- Demonstrated experience in the social and human services sector
- Experience and knowledge of working with young people presenting with mental health and/or other complexities including trauma, homelessness and substance use
- Demonstrated knowledge of trends and models of service delivery for community, family, housing, employment and/or youth programs
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships.
