Hello. We’re Virgin Australia. We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. We’re on a mission to make flying better than ‘nice’. A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Communications Advisor, you'll play a key supporting role within our Corporate Affairs team, helping to deliver engaging internal and external communications that connect our people, customers and stakeholders. You'll assist in the planning, coordination and delivery of communications initiatives while ensuring day-to-day activities run smoothly across the team.
You'll also support media management by coordinating enquiries, maintaining communication processes and providing administrative support across a range of projects. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll help ensure our communications are timely, consistent and aligned with Virgin Australia's brand and values.
You’ll be great in this role if you:
- Hold a degree in Communications, Journalism or a related discipline (essential)

- Have experience working with media and know how to identify and create compelling, newsworthy stories
- Thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly
- Can confidently manage multiple projects at once while maintaining a high standard of work
- Are a proactive self starter who takes initiative and enjoys finding solutions
- Work just as effectively independently as you do as part of a collaborative team
- Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong eye for detail
- Build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders through your strong interpersonal skills
- Have a solid understanding of traditional and digital communications channels, including social media
- Take pride in delivering outstanding outcomes with creativity, professionalism and your own individual flair
- Bring experience in aviation or a related industry (highly regarded)
