Reporting directly to the Senior Technical Superintendent, this role is responsible for overseeing operational assets and infrastructure maintenance and management ensuring reliability that supports a large fleet of escort and harbour tugs at the world’s busiest export port.
Ensure safety, maintenance, technical information systems are in place to enable the Rivtow Marine fleet of tugs and crew transfer vessels to operate to the highest standards of safety, availability, and efficiency.
Maintain scheduling for Major Works, Out of Commission periods.
Desirable Competencies and Characteristics
As our new Marine Asset and Infrastructure Maintenance Planner, you'll be a vital part of the Rivtow Marine Team based in Port Hedland Western Australia. Your crucial role entails into delivering and maintaining functioning asset and infrastructure, overseeing all stages of design, preventative and corrective maintenance, and ensuring industry and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Implementing the Asset and Infrastructure Management and Maintenance Strategy
- Providing technical leadership across maintenance strategy, including asset condition assessments, preventative maintenance, renewal planning and defect elimination.
- Establishing asset governance and lifecycle costing practices to improve data quality, support revaluation activities and inform long‑term decision-making.
- Developing scope of works packages, lead procurement and executional projects.
- Ongoing supervision and monitoring of the project progress, quality checks, and time management.
- Maintain and monitor site documentation including daily logs, diaries, and records of work progress and issues and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure safety, maintenance, technical information systems are in place.
- Maintain scheduling for Major Works, Out of Commission periods ensuring asset and infrastructure reliability.
Essential Qualifications, Experiences & Capability
- Accident and Incident Investigation training – Kelvin Tops Set 5 Whys (desirable)
- Marine industry experience (Highly desirable)
- First Aid (Training will be provided)
- Ability to obtain Maritime Security Identity Card (MSIC)
- Proven ability to innovate and reimagine solutions, showcasing a commitment to continuous learning.
- A dedication to elevating team performance to meet or surpass client expectations, with a focus on exceptional service
- Experienced in contractor management and in ensuring project adherence to industry regulations and best practices, maintaining high standards of work.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and or develop design work independently, delivering quality outcomes promptly and showcasing technical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong working knowledge of maintenance planning, including sound understanding of computer-based planned maintenance systems, e.g. Sertica
