About the Role:
This is an ongoing, full-time position at 80 per fortnight within the Finance Department. The Team Leader, Patient Liaison is dedicated to optimising revenue capture and collection through day to day operational leadership and direct supervision of the Patient Liaison team and the Cashier. The role is crucial to strategically drive private and compensable patient revenue, ensuring appropriate processes are in place to eliminate revenue leakage. The role supports key processes to ensure timely and accurate identification of appropriate funding classifications, including Private, TAC and Medicare Ineligible patients. The Team Leader – Patient Liaison is also responsible for the end to end billing processes for Medicare Ineligible patients, ensuring billing key performance indicators are met and collections are completed in line with set standards. As a customer focused leader, the Team Leader, Patient Liaison will empower their team to provide exceptional service to patients, families, carers, and staff, educating them on the benefits of private and compensable admissions. This position requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of health funding mechanisms, and a drive to continuously improve — embracing technology and challenging the status quo to find smarter ways of working.
Classification for this position will be governed by Award 10 - Managers and Administrative Workers and will range from AO61 (Grade 6, Level 1) to AO65 (Grade 6, Level 5) depending on experience, from $113,793.68 to $114,382.84 per annum, plus Superannuation, leave loading and salary packaging).
What you’ll achieve:

Drive technology and process improvement relating to identification and conversion of private patients

Implement and drive process and technology improvements relating to identification and billing of Medicare ineligible patients, leading to more timely payments to RCH

Drive the education of key internal stakeholders regarding business requirements

Lead the continued uplift in service delivery and communication by the patient liaison team
Your skills and experience:
-
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a complex customer service role
-
Proven experience leading a function to deliver organisational objectives and/ or post-secondary qualifications in a related field

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in dealing with private health funds, Medicare and Medicare ineligible patients, with an ability to navigate the complex rules to implement robust processes

A detailed understanding of health funding models and the funding implications of private v public patients

High degree of computer literacy, including a solid understanding of Microsoft Office products, including proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook and capacity to quickly learn new financial software systems
