- Full time (35 hours per week) for up to 6 months, with the view to ongoing employment.
- $103,429 – $116,979 per annum (depending on skills and experience), including an all-incidence allowance of $10,797 per annum, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

Jacqui Scruby is the elected independent Member for Pittwater. She is seeking an experienced senior electorate officer to oversee her office. The Pittwater Electorate Office is the point of contact for constituents and local community groups to engage with the Member for Pittwater regarding state government services and responsibilities.
The office is open 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday
About the position
The Senior Electorate Officer is responsible for managing the office, including establishing systems and processes and providing high level support to the Member for Pittwater as well as managing two Electoral Officers and contractors (as required).
This role is all encompassing, and you will have responsibility for ensuring all constituent matters are resolved, organising events, overseeing media, advertising and communications (including social media), proactively engaging community groups and advising of grants, managing accounts and the Member’s diary. Strategically, you will ensure that issues raised by constituents are communicated to the Member and that the Member’s advocacy in parliament is communicated to the community.
The applicant must be able to thrive in a high intensity environment, manage a hectic schedule, prioritise handle multiple tasks and rarely drop the ball. Most importantly you must be effective at administration and organisation.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing office set up, administration, budgets, software and hardware.
- Responsibility for HR processes and managing electorate office staff.
- Ensuring that every constituent inquiry is responded to in reasonable time and resolved to the greatest extent possible. This includes direct responsibility for complex constituent cases and overseeing all cases undertaken by electorate officers.
- ‘Closing the loop’ on parliamentary matters by getting in contact with constituents and sending them updates on topics that interest them.
- Responsibility for engagement with local groups.
- Oversee and manage media, advertising and social media content including:
- Writing media releases and working with local press
- Uploading content and managing website
- Organising ads for local media
- Quarterly printed newsletter
- Monthly email newsletter
- Digital ads
- Organising events and events calendar.
- Researching legislation and preparing briefs.
- Travelling with the Member across the electorate.
- Liaising with accountant, ensuring disclosures and accounting requirements are met.
- Grants management.
- Representing the Member at functions and providing political advice on issues relevant to the electorate.
- Inbox triage.
- Governance and compliance with policies.
The role requires up to 5 additional hours per week, including weekend work for which an annual All Incidence of Employment Allowance is paid.
Requirements:
- At least three years’ experience in administration, project management, organising role, or similar. Previous electorate office experience highly regarded.
- Experience working on community campaigns, community organising or similar outreach roles.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to draft emails, web content and produce print materials to high quality.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and management experience.
- Superior organisational and administrative skills and HR skills as well as experience planning and delivering on projects to deadline in a high-pressure environment.
- Prior Executive Assistant experience will be highly regarded
- A high level of digital competency, including an ability to use office software, social media, databases, websites, and digital communication tools including Canva and review the benefits of AI for efficiency.
- Undertake a ‘practice task’ as part of the interview process (2hrs, at home).
