Paraway Pastoral Company is seeking a Loader Operator to join our team at Rocklands Station, near Camooweal on the Queensland–Northern Territory border.
This 665,000-hectare property is a major cattle breeding hub for Paraway, running crossbred cattle across Barkly Downs country. With significant scale, modern yards and access to key transport routes, Rocklands is a cornerstone of Paraway’s northern operations.
The Rocklands compound includes comfortable accommodation, a staff kitchen, and recreation club. Staff enjoy spending their time off attending local social events and Camp drafts across the Northwest during the winter season, while summer offers opportunities for fishing, swimming, skiing, and other recreational activities in the local area
About the role
The Loader Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of loaders and associated machinery to support cattle handling, feeding, yard work, earthmoving, and general station operations.
The role ensures livestock movements and daily operations run smoothly by providing reliable machinery support, maintaining equipment, and working as part of the station team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate loaders to move feed, hay, grain, supplements, and water to support cattle programs.

Load and unload trucks, trailers, and feed mixers as required.

Assist with cattle handling operations by clearing yards, moving soil or bedding, and supporting yard preparation.

Use the loader to maintain roads, laneways, pads, trough access points, and loading areas.

Support mustering and cattle movement activities by preparing work areas and ensuring safe access for vehicles and stock

Work collaboratively within the team and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and develop and live the PPCO Culture Code
We’re seeking someone who is:
- Proven experience operating loaders or similar heavy machinery.

Strong understanding of safe machinery operation in agricultural or remote environments.

Ability to work around livestock safely and calmly.

Basic mechanical knowledge for daily checks and minor repairs.

Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently.

Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
