Principal Accountabilities:
Project Management
- Lead projects from initiation through to completion.
- Develop project scopes, execution plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Monitor project progress against milestones and implement corrective actions where required.
- Manage project risks, issues, and opportunities.
- Coordinate internal resources and external contractors.
- Control project costs and manage budget performance.
- Prepare progress reports and present project status to management and clients.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Manage project documentation, change control, and close-out activities.
Engineering
- Provide technical leadership throughout project execution.
- Provide engineering support, design, and documentation for all services and products to clients and company employees
- Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, client specifications, and statutory requirements.
- Resolve complex engineering and technical issues.
- Support engineering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical guidance to designers and technicians.
- Participate in engineering reviews including HAZOPs, constructability reviews, and design verification.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary technical and project interface with clients.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Facilitate project meetings and technical workshops.
- Manage subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Liaise with operations, finance, quality, and HSE teams.
Commercial Responsibilities
- Assist with proposal preparation and estimating.
- Review contracts and technical specifications.
- Manage project variations and claims.
- Monitor project profitability.
- Support business development opportunities through existing client relationships.
Health, Safety, Quality & Environment
- Promote a strong safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and client requirements.
- Participate in risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses.
- Ensure quality management processes are followed.
- Support incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
Leadership
- Mentor graduate and junior engineers.
- Foster collaboration across departments.
- Contribute to the development of the department and strive to make continuous improvement through feedback and experience.
- Actively promote the Core Values within all work-based activities.
Requirements:
- Minimum tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution.
- Registered Professional Engineer status from a recognized engineering organization highly desirable.
- Project Management background and experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment is desirable
- High level of computer literacy, with good working knowledge of MS Office Suite, SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in an industrial engineering service environment highly regarded.
- Ability or experience working within a certified Integrated Management System (Quality, Safety and Environment) highly regarded.
