Manager Fleet and Depot Operations
Remuneration: Four (4) year employment contract with a Total Remuneration Package commencing from $162,400 (including base salary, vehicle allowance and super) per annum, with salary negotiable based on skills, qualifications and experience.

Gympie Regional Council is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Manager Fleet and Depot Operations to lead a critical operational function that supports the delivery of services across our region. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Council's fleet and depot services while leading high-performing teams and driving innovation, safety and operational excellence.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director Infrastructure Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across Council's fleet, plant, workshop, logistics and depot operations. You will be responsible for delivering safe, reliable, cost-effective and sustainable services that underpin Council's operational performance and community outcomes.
Leading a team through three direct reports and approximately 30 indirect staff, you will oversee:
- Fleet and plant asset management
- Workshop operations and maintenance programs
- Fleet procurement and disposal
- Logistics and stores operations
- Fuel management systems
- Depot operations and site management
- Heavy Vehicle National Law and Chain of Responsibility compliance
- Continuous improvement and innovation initiatives
What You'll Bring
- You are an accomplished leader who can balance strategic planning with operational delivery and stakeholder engagement.
- To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in fleet management, workshop operations, logistics or related services
- Proven expertise in asset lifecycle management, procurement and service optimisation
- Strong leadership capability with experience leading multidisciplinary teams
- Sound knowledge of fleet technologies, maintenance systems, telematics and asset management platforms
- Commercial and financial acumen, including budget management, procurement and contract administration
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and relevant transport legislation
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills
- A commitment to safety, sustainability and customer-focused service delivery
Essential Requirements
- Current Queensland "C" Class Driver Licence.
- Ability to undertake local travel and occasional after-hours work.
