About the Opportunity
Council are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team in a role that combines heavy plant operation with administrative support and a sound knowledge of Saleyards Operation. This position involves the safe and efficient operation of machinery such as loaders, excavators, or graders, while also assisting with daily office tasks including scheduling, reporting, and record management. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating site activities, maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards, and supporting supervisors with accurate documentation. Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to balance hands-on work with administrative responsibilities are essential for success in this role.

What you need to Succeed
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude.
- Current Medium Rigid Licence is essential.
- Plant and Equipment tickets and licences relevant to civil construction and road maintenance.
- General knowledge and understanding of saleyards operations and maintenance.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- General knowledge and understanding of road construction and maintenance techniques.
- Demonstrated experience in safe and efficient operation of construction plant and specialist equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and coordinate resources.
- Demonstrated experience in administration, record management and reporting.
- Willingness and physical capacity to carry out key duties of the position including manual labour.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to learn new techniques and work practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
