We’re now looking for a Part Time Early Childhood Teacher — or someone who’s currently studying toward their qualification — to join our vibrant team and help create inspiring learning experiences for young children.
Where you’ll work
Newhaven Preschool thrives in all aspects from a newly built space co-located with the local primary school to provide a seamless transition between two big steps of a child's learning journey. The educator team are always inspired by the creativity and diversity of the children and are seeking educators to join them in supporting children to take their own steps in the world.
Role Details:
Early Childhood Teacher
Session times: Tuesday and Thursday - 8:30am to 4:00pm
Shift times: Tuesday and Thursday - 8:00am to 4:30pm with remaining 5.5 hours non contact to be worked on another day by negotiation with the successful candidate
15 contact hours + 7.5 non-contact hours = 22.5 hours per week
What You’ll Do
As a valued member of our teaching team, you’ll:
- Support play-based learning programs that nurture each child’s growth and development
- Build warm, respectful relationships with children, families, and fellow educators
- Create safe, inclusive environments where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired
- Work collaboratively with your team to deliver exceptional education and care

What You’ll Bring
- Current qualification in early childhood teaching and current registration with VIT
- A genuine interest in supporting children’s development and commitment to ongoing learning
- Current Working With Children's Check, First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Great teamwork, communication, and reliability
