What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the VP of Engineering you’ll be involved in:
Acting as the Engineering Lead for the ANZ region, owning engineering outcomes across the region and supporting the VP of Engineering as their senior in-region partner.
Leading and developing a team of Engineering Directors, and partnering closely with the region-based Chief Product Officer to act as the face of engineering both internally and with customers.
In this capacity, your responsibilities will include:
Line management, leadership and development of the region’s Engineering Directors, setting direction, supporting their growth and holding the engineering leadership team to a high standard.
Acting as the senior point of engineering decision-making in-region, exercising significant agency and judgement on behalf of the VP of Engineering across time zones.
Owning in-region delivery of key strategic projects, and being accountable for all product delivery outcomes across the region.
Being responsible for the ongoing modernisation of the regional engineering organisation, advocating for the sunsetting of legacy codebases and continuing to develop scalable, modern, cloud-based architectures.
Partnering closely with the region-based CPO, providing senior engineering support to both the senior product team and external customers, and representing engineering as its internal and external face.
Driving cross-functional alignment with senior stakeholders including the CISO, CIO, CPO, Regional GM, Heads of DevOps, Architecture and TechOps, key account customers, Product Marketing, Sales and HR.
Supporting your Engineering Directors with hiring, resource planning, product and project oversight and the attraction, retention and development of top engineering talent.
Managing stakeholder expectations around delivery, balancing competing product priorities and communicating roadmap and resourcing decisions clearly at all levels.
Engaging strategic customers directly to gather insight, resolve escalations and drive product enhancements, acting as the principal point of escalation for the region.
Representing engineering on the Regional Leadership Team and at Regional Product Council, and reporting through the Quarterly Tech Reviews on engineering efficiency, quality, debt and delivery.
Promoting the Reapit Global Technology Strategy, ensuring best-practice security, quality and SDLC standards are embedded across the region in line with global toolchains and the eight-week sprint cycle.
Who we're looking for

An experienced engineering leader, operating at Engineering Director level or equivalent, with a track record of leading other leaders and managing multi-squad engineering organisations.
A strong people leader who can set direction for a team of Engineering Directors while exercising real autonomy and judgement on behalf of a remote VP of Engineering.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, comfortable as the senior face of engineering with executives, customers and cross-functional partners alike.
A natural partner to senior product leadership, able to support a CPO and their senior product team and to represent engineering credibly with external customers.
Accountable and delivery-focused, able to own product delivery outcomes and strategic project delivery across a whole region.
A clear point of view on engineering modernisation, with the experience to drive the transition away from legacy systems toward modern, scalable architectures.
Familiarity with the Reapit platform estate and Global Technology Strategy, or the seniority and experience to master it rapidly, with a track record in similar enterprise SaaS environments.
Confident operating across time zones and able to build trust and alignment with colleagues on the other side of the world.

Within 1 month:
Built strong working relationships with the VP of Engineering, your Engineering Directors, Heads of Product, CPO and the wider Regional Leadership Team.
Developed a clear understanding of the region’s teams, strategic projects, delivery commitments and modernisation needs.
Established your presence as the senior engineering leader in-region with key internal and external stakeholders.
Within 3 months:
Taken full ownership of engineering leadership in-region, with your Engineering Directors well supported and clear on direction.
Established a strong partnership with the Product organisation and begun representing engineering directly with strategic customers.
Built a clear view of in-region delivery and modernisation priorities, and started exercising decision-making agency on behalf of the VPE.
Within 6 months:
Become the trusted, accountable owner of product delivery outcomes across the region, with strategic projects on track.
Driven measurable progress on engineering modernisation and the health of the regional engineering organisation.
Operating as a genuinely autonomous regional engineering lead, the recognised face of engineering internally and externally, and a dependable senior partner to the VP of Engineering.
