CNC Programmer/ Operator (Leading Hand)

Aluminium Facades Australia is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Operator to join our team in a leading hand capacity. This role suits someone who can confidently create CNC programs using EnRoute software, operate CNC machinery, and take ownership of production on the floor — including sourcing files, interpreting drawings, and helping guide the team.
About the Role
You will be responsible for converting project drawings into accurate CNC programs, operating the CNC machine to fabricate aluminium panels, and keeping production running smoothly. You'll also work closely with our designer to clarify drawing details, manage incoming materials, and help lead the day-to-day work of the fabrication team.
Key responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and maintain CNC router machines
- Prepare and modify files for CNC cutting
- Load and unload product onto machine
- Review project drawings and ensure all information is complete and accurate
- Develop tool paths, machining methods, and nesting layouts
- Troubleshoot programming and machining issues
- Organise incoming materials and coordinate delivery drop offs
- Ensure all programs and finished components meet project specifications and quality standards
- Schedule work to meet deadlines and production requirements
- Liaise with suppliers and clients as required, including providing estimates
About you
- CNC programming experience with strong EnRoute skills
- Experience operating CNC routers
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable taking a lead role on the shop floor
- Experience in aluminium fabrication or façade manufacturing (desirable)
- Knowledge of CNC machining processes and workshop safety (desirable)
- Experience liaising directly with clients or suppliers (desirable)
