About the Role
As an Import Procurement Operations Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement process for goods and services intended for Import. The role involves ensuring that all necessary materials are acquired in a timely and cost-effective manner while adhering to Import regulations and company policies.

Location of work: Unit 37, 1 International drive, West Meadows, Vic - 3049
Employment Type: Permanent, Full time
Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 plus Superannuation
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research, evaluating and analysing potential suppliers
- Manage end-to-end import procurement process including negotiating contracts, payment terms, quoting and invoicing, handling transportation and controlling procurement spends
- Creating purchase orders compliance with international trade regulations and obtaining import licenses and documentation
- Manage procurement activities with ensuring on-time delivery, maximising cost efficiency and enhancing profitability at every step of the procurement cycle of imported goods while meeting all quality and performance requirements.
- Communicate with suppliers, retailers, and clients to achieve profitable deals and mutual satisfaction in terms of pricing, supply, delivery, and quality.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure pricing, clear terms, transparency, quality standards and delivery schedules are met.
- Keep up with import regulations, including tariffs, taxes, and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory guidelines.
- Identify the potential risks and select a trusted supplier, shipping company, warehouses, courier service and reliable customs broker that are the right fit for business needs
- Use recording systems to track inventory and submit purchase orders, to review stock levels regularly, set up automatic reordering point, and provide alerts when supplies are low to minimise supply chain interruptions
- Use live tracking tools to manage customer expectations
- Coordinate with relevant teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to forecast demand and monitor inventory levels for timely restocking
- Establishing strategic and long-term relationships with trusted suppliers to mitigate risks in procurement and quality issues • Prepare accurate reports for upper management including shipment records management
